Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Quality Engineer V for a Contract job with a client in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in reliability engineering, environmental and mechanical testing, failure analysis, and product qualification, along with a proven ability to evaluate and improve hardware robustness.

Rate Range: $120/hour to $126/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Quality Engineer V Job Responsibilities Include:

• Lead and execute reliability qualification programs to evaluate the robustness and performance of new hardware technologies and components.

• Design, develop, and perform mechanical and environmental reliability testing, including shock, drop, vibration, thermal cycling, and other stress-based evaluations.

• Create detailed reliability test plans that define objectives, methodologies, acceptance criteria, and test requirements.

• Analyze reliability test results and prepare comprehensive reports that summarize findings, conclusions, risks, and recommendations.

• Conduct failure analysis investigations to identify root causes of product failures using techniques such as X-ray analysis, SEM/EDS, FTIR, microscopy, and other analytical methods.

• Develop and implement new reliability test procedures, specifications, and validation methodologies to assess product durability and performance.

• Perform statistical analysis and reliability risk assessments to support engineering decisions and product qualification activities.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.

• A minimum of three years of experience in reliability engineering, test engineering, quality engineering, product validation, or failure analysis.

• Demonstrated experience developing and executing environmental and mechanical reliability tests for hardware products and components.

• Strong knowledge of industry reliability standards, including JEDEC, ASTM, and related testing methodologies.

• Hands-on experience performing failure analysis using analytical techniques such as X-ray inspection, SEM/EDS, FTIR, microscopy, and related laboratory tools.

• Experience utilizing Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other risk assessment methodologies.

• Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques used to evaluate reliability performance and product risk.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting consumer electronics, hardware systems, advanced technology products, or highly complex electromechanical devices.

• Knowledge of product qualification processes, reliability growth testing, accelerated life testing, and environmental stress screening methodologies.

• Experience collaborating with product development, supplier quality, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.

• Experience developing engineering specifications, reliability standards, validation procedures, and technical documentation.

Pay Details: $120.00 to $126.00 per hour
