Ellwood Crankshaft Group is seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality systems, product quality and continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing operations. This position works closely with production, engineering, sales and other cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards, address customer concerns and drive improvements that enhance product quality and manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Quality Management System, including ISO compliance, internal auditing and product verification activities.
• Manage gauge calibration activities and related documentation.
• Compile, analyze and report quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Document and investigate customer claims and complaints.
• Prepare and submit product non-conformances to customers professionally and in a timely manner.
• Maintain product non-conformance data in Syteline and follow up on investigations with responsible personnel.
• Serve as a primary quality contact for customer concerns in coordination with Sales.
• Lead preventive and corrective action initiatives.
• Support area managers in resolving product quality issues.
• Lead quality improvement teams and continuous improvement efforts.
• Review and revise quality procedures and guidelines to reflect current processes.
• Support lean initiatives based on quality and operational needs.
• Drive efforts to reduce quality-related costs.
• Provide quality support to other Ellwood facilities and perform additional duties as requested by the Director of Quality.

This position works in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, changing temperatures and machinery with moving parts.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in Quality Management, Engineering or a related field preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Thorough understanding of quality systems and manufacturing processes.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing tools, gauging and fixturing.
• Strong analytical and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other applicable computer systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Results-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering, sales and other functional teams.
• Valid U.S. passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
