PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The successful candidate will provide Quality Engineering support to the Design and Manufacturing teams to improve quality and reliability and will participate in a variety of activities that can include direct interaction with customers, suppliers, and other KYOCERA AVX Design Centers and Factories.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand manufacturing processes for various antenna (stamped metal, PCB, FPC, LDS, Ceramic Chip, Ceramic Patch, etc.) and how these processes can affect the physical and electrical characteristics of the antenna.
- Work with the Design and Manufacturing Teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and factories produce products that meet design specifications, environmental compliance, and social responsibility.
- Follow the Part Qualification Process and complete qualification of new antenna products.
- Follow the Change Control processes for changes to products.
- Improve quality performance using process controls, product inspection, data analysis, and problem-solving tools.
- Perform failure analysis and process investigation to determine the root cause of problems.
- Utilize Corrective Action (8D) reports to close issues with internal and external customers.
- Support the Design Centers and Factories with Quality Management System and ensure compliance to ISO-9001, IATF-16949, IPC-600, IPC-610, MIL-STD-810, etc.
- Travel to other Kyocera-AVX locations, suppliers, and customers sites as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Quality Mgt., Tech. Mgt., etc.) and prior relevant work experience.
- Strong Customer Support with good written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
- Manufacturing experience or Internship in quality environment is preferred with familiarity with quality tools such as SPC, MSA (Gage R&R), PPAP, Root Cause Analysis (Fishbone, 5 Why, Fault Tree), Corrective Action 8D reports, and reliability testing is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with ISO-9001, IATF-16949, MIL-STD-810, IPC-600, IPC-610, Mil-STD-810, RoHS, REACH, Cal Prop 65 etc. is preferred.
- Experience with Smartsheet and Minitab is preferred but not required.
