Description

Job Title - Quality Engineer

Location - Richmond VA 23231 - 100% onsite 

Shift - 8am - 5pm EST

Duration - 06+ Months Contract ( possibility to extend to convert to full time but it is not guaranteed)

Top 3 hard must have skills (non-negotiable)

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. university required

or No VISA SPONSERSHIP WILL BE PROVIDED

Minimum Bachelor engineering degree, preferably master's degree
Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis
Technical knowledge either in Mechanic or preferably electrical/electronic components


Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, and inspection checklists, while deriving Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters and establishing Q-gates.
Monitor and analyze First Pass Yield metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance product quality and production efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical/industrial/electrical engineering or related field with PLUS minimum 2 years of experience
Proficient in quality tools like FMEA, 7 QC tools, 5S, 5Why, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, SPC, DMAIC & 8D Root cause analysis
Familiarity with key industry standards such as UL1561, NEMA ST-20, IEEE C57.12.01, IEEE C57.12.91, DOE 2016, UL891, and CSA C22.2 is desirable, which enhances compliance and product reliability.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
The site does have both assembly and testing (high voltage electricity). In the event that support is needed in test or during the FAT, they will be in the high voltage electricity area as visitors, not as testers.
