Description

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with an Automotive company.
 
Role: QA Automation Engineer
Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid-Wednesday onsite every week)
Duration: 6-month contract with possible extension
Pay Range: $53-$55/hour
 
About the Role
  • We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with experience testing financial, fintech, or other regulated systems. This role focuses on validating backend services, REST APIs, event-driven workflows, and complex financial processes while ensuring solutions remain SOX-compliant, audit-ready, and fully traceable.
  • The ideal candidate has strong Python automation, SQL, API testing, and CI/CD experience and can confidently collaborate with engineering, business, and audit stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and non-functional (NFR) test plans.
  • Validate financial calculations, reconciliations, and backend data integrity using SQL.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using Python (pytest) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Test REST APIs, maker-checker workflows, role-based access controls, and segregation-of-duties (SoD) scenarios.
  • Validate event-driven workflows, message processing, idempotency, and failure handling.
  • Verify audit logs, immutable audit trails, and controlled state changes across UI, APIs, and batch processes.
  • Test integrations with third-party financial systems and ensure accurate inbound/outbound data reconciliation.
  • Track defects through resolution and produce audit-ready documentation, test evidence, and reports.
  • Collaborate with developers, accounting, control teams, and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
  • Support release readiness, production triage, and continuous improvement of QA processes.
 
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of QA/Test Engineering experience in financial, fintech, or regulated environments.
  • Strong Python automation experience with pytest.
  • Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Playwright is a plus).
  • Advanced SQL skills for data validation and reconciliation.
  • Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
  • Experience with SOX/internal controls, maker-checker workflows, segregation of duties, and audit evidence.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing Java-based microservices.
  • Knowledge of FastAPI and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience validating financial calculations, balances, valuations, or immutable audit data.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
