Quality Engineer
Location: Northvale, NJ (On-Site)
Pay Rate: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
Employment Type: Contract/Temporary
Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support and maintain quality systems within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements, and supporting product quality from development through production.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality system requirements, including APQP, PPAP, Core Tools, control plans, and customer-specific requirements
Develop and maintain process control plans, capability studies, and Gage R&R studies
Perform process capability analysis and recommend corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency
Analyze quality data, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for process improvements
Develop inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
Investigate customer concerns and support customer audits and site visits
Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
Review manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
Interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and technical specifications
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving process performance
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
Previous Quality Engineering experience within an automotive manufacturing environment required
Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and other Automotive Core Tools
Experience conducting Gage R&R studies and process capability analysis
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
Experience creating and maintaining process control plans and inspection documentation
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related reporting tools
Additional Information
Automotive industry experience is required
Open to non-local candidates; however, relocation assistance is not available
Competitive pay rate of $50-$65/hour based on experience
