Quality Engineer

The QE assists in the implementation and maintenance of all quality system requirements including APQP, Core Tools, customer concerns and customer visits, gauging, process control plans, supplier issues, customer specific requirements. Establish and implement process control plans to include capability studies, gage repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies.

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer will work on site at its NJ plant for about one year. The QE assists in the implementation and maintenance of all quality system requirements including APQP, Core Tools, customer concerns and customer visits, gauging, process control plans, supplier issues, customer specific requirements.

Main Responsibilities

• Establish and implement process control plans to include capability studies, gage repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies.
• Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; and making recommendations.
• Development of inspection and work instructions
• Performance process capability studies
• Prepare and submit Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages ensuring all elements are met per customer requirements.
• Participate in Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP).
• Participates in and performs Layered Process Audits (LPA) per plan.
• Management of Customer and Internal Complaints, Supplier if needed.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering
• Professional experience ~5 years
• Automotive experience
• IATF16949 Knowledge
• Manufacturing process experience
• Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications.
• Knowledge in GD&T
• Organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames.
• Capacity to work independently from general supervision (must be self-motivated once given direction/guidance)
• Core tools Knowledge
• Problem solving background (8D's Methodology)
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external
• Strong attention to detail
