Quality Engineer

Our client is a privately held precision manufacturer specializing in producing high-quality machined components and engineered machining solutions for OEMs and industrial customers. With a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and customer service, the organization leverages advanced CNC, Swiss machining, and related manufacturing technologies to solve complex production challenges. Its operations are supported by robust quality systems, APQP/PPAP processes, and a team-oriented culture dedicated to delivering reliable, cost-effective solutions. They have about 200 employees and primarily serve the aerospace, defense, and automotive industries.

Job Description

• Analyze nonconforming conditions in production to determine root cause.
• Communicate with process owners to resolve nonconforming conditions by developing or facilitating corrective and preventive actions.
• Summarize and report nonconformance information and evaluate trends and major causes.
• Summarize and report defect analyses, corrective actions, implementations status, and effectiveness.
• Develop and document control plans which define verifications during production to ensure all state requirements are met.
• Develop and document inspection and verification procedures for use by department personnel.
• Develop and document PPAP paperwork.
• Take ownership of corrective/preventative actions (i.e., 8-D's, CAR's).
• Develop production methods for new and existing work.
• Complete immersion in personal and business continuous improvement.
• Participate in APQP for new and existing work.
• Develop internal process control plans for new and existing work.
• Use advanced statistical knowledge for problem solving and data analysis.
• Plan and document studies of measurement repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) and process capability.
• Perform internal audits of the quality system and verification activities; and supplier audits as requested.
• Use inspection, measuring, and test equipment as necessary.
• Participate in company quality improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

• At least 3+ years of experience within quality
• Background in a machining manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree is preferred
• Experience with aerospace and/or automotive environments is preferred
• Sponsorship not provided (Must be Green Card Holder or U.S. Citizen)
