Quality Engineer I

Summary:

• Location: Greenville, SC
• Duration: 12 Months

Responsibilities:

• Create qualification standards in alignment with Global Supply Chain and Engineering.
• Manage dates and scope for equipment purchases, installation, and qualification.
• Lead qualifications from inception to closure, including parts and special processes such as coatings and brazing.
• Apply knowledge of design and manufacturing to implement new ideas that enhance the overall qualification process, reduce cost, and add value.
• Identify and implement qualification cost-out opportunities.
• Provide regional and, in some cases, global shop support.
• Cultivate a positive working environment and morale; drive a sense of urgency and quality with speed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Preferred Skills:

• Minimum 6 years of turbine engineering and/or manufacturing experience.
• Program management experience.
• Strong team player.
• Well-versed in lean manufacturing methods.
• Experience interfacing across matrix organizations.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Ability to build trust with team members and interfacing organizations.
• Experience and familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes.
