About the Opportunity

Our client, a leader in geotechnical and geo-structural construction solutions, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who is passionate about quality assurance, process improvement, and field operations. The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards across a variety of construction projects while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and project-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, drawings, contracts, and regulatory requirements to establish quality standards and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, including ASTM, ACI, FHWA, AASHTO, USACE, and other relevant regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and field evaluations to verify project quality and compliance.
  • Oversee quality control programs, including testing requirements, data collection, reporting, and documentation.
  • Analyze project and testing data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analyses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and implement quality processes, procedures, and best practices to support operational excellence.
  • Review engineering designs, plans, testing procedures, and quality documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Support project management and field operations teams by providing technical expertise and quality-related guidance.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining testing data repositories and quality records.
  • Monitor data acquisition systems and establish quality-related review thresholds or alert parameters.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on quality performance, findings, and improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor Field Engineers, Project Engineers, Project Managers, and field personnel on quality standards, testing procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct project audits to ensure proper documentation, recordkeeping, and continuous adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction, quality engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and specifications, including ASTM, ACI, FHWA, and AASHTO.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30% or more.

Preferred

  • Experience in geotechnical or geo-structural construction.
  • Experience working on design-build construction projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with PowerApps or similar data management and reporting tools.
