Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to serve as the primary quality representative for one or more product lines. In this role, you will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and customers to ensure products meet all quality, regulatory, and customer requirements. You will lead corrective actions, drive continuous improvement initiatives, support audits, and maintain compliance with AS9100D and ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the quality lead for assigned product lines throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Investigate customer returns and internal nonconformances in partnership with Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Lead root cause investigations and develop corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Drive resolution of internal quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Develop and deliver quality-related training for production and support teams.
  • Create quality plans during the proposal and product development phases.
  • Participate on the Change Review Board to evaluate engineering and document changes.
  • Review manufacturing plans to ensure inspection points, acceptance test procedures (ATP), and special gauging requirements are properly incorporated.
  • Develop inspection plans for receiving, in-process, assembly, final, and test inspections.
  • Act as the primary quality contact during customer, AS9100, and FAA audits.
  • Monitor quality metrics, perform trend analysis, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present quality performance reports during management reviews.
  • Conduct internal quality system audits, issue corrective action requests (CARs), and verify implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance, review supplier documentation, and issue supplier corrective actions when necessary.
  • Represent Quality on the Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Evaluate customer claims and process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
  • Interface directly with customers through meetings, audits, online portals, and other communication channels.
  • Manage and resolve customer-issued corrective actions for assigned product lines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.





Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or another technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical inspection methods.
  • Proficiency with quality tools including 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, Control Plans, Fishbone Analysis, SPC, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience supporting customer, AS9100, and regulatory audits.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working with FAA-regulated products.
  • Familiarity with MRB processes and supplier quality management.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

This position is split between an office and manufacturing facility. The manufacturing environment may include exposure to machinery, moderate noise, dust, and fumes. The office environment is climate controlled.

Candidates MUST be Computer literate.  

$45-$50 per hour DOE
