Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer works under immediate supervision and uses established procedures to control and monitor quality, ensuring products are consistent with industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements
Essential Functions:
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers to ensure quality standards are met.
Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to evaluate product quality and identify trends.
Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks.
Halt production processes if critical product defects are identified to prevent nonconforming material from escaping.
Monitor and maintain quality control systems to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency, making improvements as necessary.
Train and instruct team members in quality control methodologies, statistical analysis, and analytical procedures.
Generate detailed reports on nonconformance of products or processes, root cause analyses, and quality trends for management and stakeholders.
Review and interpret statistical studies, regulatory standards, and emerging trends in quality control to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Identify critical control points in the Value Stream and establish appropriate sampling procedures to monitor quality.
Lead and drive the qualification of product and process changes, ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards.
Support and participate in audits conducted by Defense, Aerospace, and Customer Auditors, ensuring compliance with industry and customer requirements.
Provide technical support for failure analysis, reliability testing, and corrective action implementation as required.
Review and approve quality-related document changes, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), and deviations.
Perform process capability analysis and ongoing data reviews to ensure processes remain stable and capable.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) to mitigate risks and improve processes.
Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: 0-4 years of Quality Engineering experience
Knowledge: Understands fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program; Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Full color acuity; Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently to meet company standards and deadlines
Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
Eligibility Requirement: FAA sensitive position - may be subject to a government security investigation to verify eligibility for access to classified information
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an Aerospace environment or similar manufacturing setting
ASQC Quality Engineer Certification
Working Conditions:
Standard office environment
Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
