Quality Engineer - Electrical Hardware

Introduction

This position is fully onsite at the Michigan Assembly Plant, focusing on the Bronco and Ranger programs. The candidate will be responsible for addressing quality issues related to V18 Electrical hardware, V42 Transmission controls, and V70 Interior switches. This role is part of the Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) within the Product Development organization, functioning as the first line of defense for vehicle quality improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Six Sigma Methodology – Black or Green Belt certified, with the ability to drive problem-solving using 8D’s and 5WHYs.
• Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) – Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Prior work experience in the automotive industry.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Team Center – Ability to pull up vehicle components using CAD/Team Center.
• Experience in WERS system writing alerts and releasing parts.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Drive interim (ICA) and permanent (PCA) corrective actions on customer quality concerns from Warranty, Executive Escalations, Social Media, and Technical Hotline.
• Own resolution of customer-critical issues and reduce warranty by analyzing claims and coordinating actions.
• Develop and manage SIMPSN projects to document quality improvements for the Vehicle Line.
• Coordinate containment support with VFG quality quarterbacks and Functional Quality Reviews (FQR).
• Support the Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for FH sub-systems and partner with STA engineers and suppliers on supplier quality issues.
• Initiate and support WERS Concerns (CR) and alerts for design changes and plant trials.
• Lead plant trials for quality, cost, and supplier improvements.
• Participate in daily binning and plant quality meetings, biweekly VRT report-outs, and monthly Vehicle Quality Reviews.
