Sterling Engineering is hiring a Director of Quality for a rapidly growing manufacturer seeking an accomplished quality leader to drive enterprise-wide quality initiatives, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company's long-term quality strategy aligned with business objectives
Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) as the organization grows
Establish quality KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to drive operational excellence
Ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications
Direct internal and external audits, certification activities, and corrective action programs
Oversee quality assurance, quality control, supplier quality, and inspection operations
Lead root cause investigations, CAPA initiatives, and risk management activities
Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement programs
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality organization across multiple locations
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to improve product quality and customer satisfaction
Manage customer quality issues, supplier performance, and strategic quality initiatives
Develop executive-level reporting, quality metrics, and performance reviews to support business decisions
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline
Must have 10-15+ years of progressive quality management experience, including at least 5 years in leadership
Must have owned an ISO recertification event with strong hands-on knowledge
Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems and regulatory compliance standards
Proven success leading enterprise-wide quality improvement initiatives
Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, quality tools, and structured problem-solving methodologies
Experience leading large cross-functional teams within a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree or MBA
ASQ certifications such as CQE, CQM, or CQA
Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
Experience within highly regulated manufacturing industries
Experience implementing digital Quality Management Systems and Industry 4.0 technologies
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, SPC, DOE, FMEA, CAPA, and advanced quality methodologies
