    About the Role

    We're hiring a Quality Control Technician (Asphalt) to ensure the quality and consistency of asphalt products through field and plant testing, documentation, and communication with production teams and state agencies.

    This role is based in Napoleon, Ohio, with travel to job sites and plants as needed.

    What You'll Do

    • Collect and test asphalt samples in accordance with ODOT testing schedules
    • Ensure asphalt products meet required quality standards and specifications
    • Maintain accurate testing records and documentation
    • Communicate quality concerns to Quality Control leadership and operations teams
    • Submit required testing documentation to state agencies
    • Maintain professional communication with state agencies and project stakeholders
    • Analyze testing data and identify quality trends or potential issues
    • Support troubleshooting and recommend adjustments to improve product quality
    • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
    • Travel to plants and job sites as needed

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, or up to 100 pounds with assistance
    • Ability to safely climb and descend ladders
    • Ability to access and navigate plant and job-site environments
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
    • Ability to work outside normal business hours as operational needs require
    • Ability to travel to various job sites as needed

    What You Bring

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
    • Strong mathematical abilities, including weights and measurements
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
    • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • ODOT Aggregate Levels 1, 2, and 3 knowledge highly preferred
    • Prior quality control experience in construction or manufacturing preferred
    • Asphalt, aggregate, or materials testing experience is a plus, but we are willing to train a motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn
