The Quality Control Technician (QT) fulfills three cement manufacturing quality roles on an alternating week-by-week basis:
Chemical laboratory testing
Physical laboratory testing
Production shift control
In each function, the QT is responsible for reliable and accurate testing of plant raw materials, feed streams, and sixteen types of finished cement product. The QT also maintains laboratory equipment in optimal working condition while working alongside Production and Sales teams to deliver high-quality products to our customers.
Testing & Analysis: Analyze material samples to determine physical and chemical properties using specialized laboratory procedures and instruments to ensure compliance with standards.
Data Management: Record, review, and communicate test findings accurately using databases, spreadsheets, and digital software systems.
Customer Support: Assist with customer service issues by troubleshooting technical product complaints or physical property problems.

Safety & Environment: Demonstrate a strict commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies. Actively promote a proactive safety culture across all plant environments.
Education & Experience:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Study: Degree coursework in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science preferred.
Work Experience: 0 – 2 years of quality control or industrial lab experience.
Technical & Computer Skills:
Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Experience with enterprise software (SAP) is a plus.
Strong mathematical aptitude, high attention to detail, and ability to prioritize competing workloads.
Equipment & Physical Safety Requirements:
Hands-on use of laboratory scales, compression testing machines, sieve shakers, high-temperature ovens, aggregate decant machines, and aggregate splitters.
Valid Driver's License (may drive plant vehicles as required).
Strict adherence to safety protocols and mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators.
OSHA Respirator Standard: Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal contacts the face to successfully pass qualitative and quantitative fit testing.
Base Pay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour
