Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for a quality technician position at a manufacturing company in Bethel, CT. This is a temp-to-hire position.
The hours are 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $20-$30 an hour, based on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform quality control inspection on raw materials and in-process/finished parts
- Maintain department and all inspection records
- Collect samples per appropriate AQL
- Conduct visual and mechanical tests on component parts
- Provide technical assistance to production personnel as required
- Maintain calibration program as required for all gages, pins, fixtures and associated tools
- Responsible for first piece sign off documents, in-process quality documents and finished product inspections and documentation
- Records tests results
- Provide feedback to supervisor, set-up personnel and operators and department managers
- Make recommendations for resolving quality issues
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 3-5 years work experience in quality control or inspection in a metal machining environment
- Dexterity and preciseness required to operate gauges and testing equipment
- Proven experience and ability to use basic QA measuring equipment and measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, hardness testing and shadow graphs
- Sound math skills
- Solid knowledge of metals and metal working
- Prior machining experience a plus
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to maintain high degree of mental focus and strict attention to detail
- Must read, write, and speak English and know how to read engineering drawings
- Able to pass pre-employment screenings
