    Position Summary

    The Quality Team Lead is responsible for leading quality assurance and quality control activities in a high-volume manufacturing environment for cloud infrastructure products (servers, storage, and rack solutions). This role ensures compliance with customer-specific requirements (hyperscalers), industry standards, and internal quality systems, while driving continuous improvement, reliability, and operational excellence. The position supervises a team of quality technicians and works closely with production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve issues quickly and prevent recurrence.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead, train, and supervise quality technicians and inspectors in daily operations.
    • Oversee incoming (IQC), in-process (IPQC), and outgoing (OQC) inspections for server and system-level products.
    • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, including hyperscaler specifications and data center reliability standards.
    • Drive rapid containment, root cause analysis, and resolution of quality issues impacting production or customers.
    • Lead structured problem-solving activities using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and similar methodologies.
    • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering to improve yields, reduce defects, and enhance process capability.
    • Monitor key quality metrics (FPY, DPPM, RMA, yield) and implement actions to meet targets.
    • Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of inspection and test equipment (CMM, gauges, functional testers).
    • Support and lead internal/external audits, including customer audits and ISO compliance.
    • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality requirements (e.g., OCP standards if applicable).
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S) focused on defect reduction and efficiency.
    • Escalate critical quality risks and communicate effectively with management and customers when needed.
    • Develop team capability through coaching, training, and performance management.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Experience working in EMS or high-volume electronics manufacturing preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of PCBA, system integration, and functional testing processes.
    • Familiarity with failure analysis, burn-in, and reliability testing is a plus.
    • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and quality data analysis tools.
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective communication skills in cross-functional and customer-facing scenarios.

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience in quality within electronics or server manufacturing environment.
    • 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
    • Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001 required; experience with OCP or hyperscaler standards is a plus).
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and test specifications.
    • Experience with inspection tools and electronic test equipment.
    • Solid understanding of SPC and data-driven decision-making.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required; data analysis skills preferred).

    Working Conditions

    • Fast-paced manufacturing environment (server / rack integration lines).
    • May require standing, walking production lines, and supporting multiple shifts.
    • Occasional overtime and on-call support for critical production issues.
