Quality Control Systems Manager Charter Contracting Company is seeking qualified personnel in the western Massachusetts area! Charter is a growing, New England -based, non-union Civil/Environmental Remediation Contractor. Types of work include environmental remediation, demolition, excavation, dredging, utility work, and landfill cap/closure projects. The QC Systems Manager plays a critical leadership role ensuring all work meets quality standards, contract specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position drives quality excellence through inspections, documentation, training, and proactive issue resolution. Quality Leadership & Oversight - Manage and implement the Contractor Quality Control Plan (CQCP) across the project.
- Maintain a proactive quality culture, empowering staff to identify and address deficiencies.
- Ensure all quality activities occur under controlled conditions and meet contract requirements.
- Lead coordination with the Construction Manager (CM), subcontractors, and field supervisors.
Inspections & Testing - Oversee preparatory, initial, follow-up, and completion inspections for all definable features of work.
- Ensure proper QC testing, equipment calibration, sampling, and documentation.
- Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship meet approved submittals and specifications.
- Track deficiencies, non-conformances, corrective actions, and root cause analyses.
Documentation & Reporting - Prepare and maintain required QC documentation, including daily QC reports, test results, deficiency logs, and meeting minutes.
- Ensure all QC records are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timeframes.
- Support audits and provide documentation to regulatory agencies as needed.
Team Management & Communication - Supervise QC Technicians and ensure adequate site coverage for all work activities.
- Train QC staff on inspection processes, documentation, and specification updates.
- Conduct preparatory and initial inspection meetings with CM, supervisors, subcontractors, and safety personnel.
Qualifications - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related field (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in construction or operations with direct QC involvement.
- Certifications:
- USACE Construction Quality Management Certification (required)
Pay Range set to $110,000 - $130,000 Skills - Strong knowledge of construction QA/QC standards and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and test requirements
- Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to travel throughout New England.
- Location: On-site position (Western Massachusetts), non-remote
