Job Title: Quality Control Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager for a 9-month contract-to-hire position. This role involves overseeing and enforcing quality control measures on a historical rehabilitation project within Hot Springs National Park. You will ensure that all work adheres to quality standards and manage the project from start to finish, focusing on quality control. The position typically requires working 40 hours a week with assistance from two Project Engineers on submittals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction projects from start to finish, focusing on quality control.
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish standards of care for each definable feature of work.
  • Verify and document that all materials received are in conformance with approved submittals and are handled and stored appropriately.
  • Conduct required meetings with the superintendent, foreman, and subcontractors prior to the start of each new phase of the work.
  • Review plans, specifications, construction cost data, and other contract documents to identify potential quality risk factors.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
  • Perform specified or required tests to verify control measures are adequate.
  • Oversee work of subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the project superintendent and maintain the project "as-built" drawings daily.
  • Develop, update, and maintain the project submittal log and quality control reporting.
  • Provide written daily quality control reports to ensure work activities meet project standards.
  • Schedule and document inspections required to conform to project contract requirements.
  • Independently verify necessary inspections, approvals, and certifications by appropriate agencies.
  • Assemble and forward project closeout documents.
  • Use discretion to stop work if necessary to resolve safety or quality matters.
  • Advise on changes to methods and materials for use in projects.

Essential Skills

  • 5 years of construction management experience on federal projects.
  • Experience with Procore and submittals.
  • QCM certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining effective quality control systems on federal projects.
  • Working knowledge of construction materials, methods, terminology, and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of project plans, specifications, shop drawings, and testing.
  • Understanding of administrative and management principles in project planning and resource allocation.
  • Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.
  • Ability to create and administer new quality control programs.
  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Current credentials for "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" course.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety & Health training completed within the last 5 years.
  • First aid/CPR certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in historical rehabilitation projects is a plus.

Work Environment

The Quality Control Manager will primarily work onsite at Hot Springs National Park, overseeing a project that involves the rehabilitation of existing bathhouses. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and quality standards, utilizing technologies such as the Construction Contractor Module of RMS (QCS) for project documentation. The position involves a typical 40-hour workweek, with a focus on ensuring that all project activities comply with established standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hot Springs, AR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $63.00/hr.
