    Description

    Butterfly Staffing is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to support a federal healthcare renovation project in Salem, Virginia.

    This role will oversee quality control activities on a complex, phased construction project within an active medical environment. The work includes coordination across multiple trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, communications, carpentry, demolition and related construction activities.

    The Quality Control Manager will work closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, safety personnel and government representatives to ensure work is completed in accordance with contract documents, specifications and federal quality requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the project quality control program and required documentation
    • Implement and maintain the Three Phase Control process, including Preparatory, Initial and Follow-up phases
    • Review plans, specifications, submittals and contract requirements
    • Coordinate inspections, testing and quality control activities with subcontractors and project staff
    • Identify deficiencies and track corrective actions through completion
    • Maintain daily QC reports, inspection records and other required project documentation
    • Participate in coordination meetings, preparatory meetings and government inspections
    • Verify materials and completed work comply with approved submittals, plans and specifications
    • Coordinate closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager and SSHO
    • Support punch list, turnover and project closeout activities
    • Help coordinate quality requirements during phased work within an occupied healthcare facility

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of construction quality control experience
    • Successful completion of at least one comparable project in a Quality Control role
    • Federal construction experience with VA, USACE, NAVFAC, DoD or another federal agency strongly preferred
    • Experience with phased renovation or construction in an active healthcare or occupied facility environment strongly preferred
    • Experience coordinating quality control across multiple construction trades
    • Strong knowledge of federal construction documentation, inspections, submittals and testing requirements
    • Experience with RMS/QCS or similar federal construction management systems preferred
    • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and contract documents
    • Strong communication, organization and documentation skills

    Certifications

    • Current USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification strongly preferred
    • OSHA 30 preferred
    • EM 385-1-1 familiarity preferred
