Our client, a precision manufacturing company, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for a contract assignment at their Norwalk, Connecticut facility. This role is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished goods to ensure they meet engineering drawings, tolerances, and customer specifications.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments and a solid understanding of quality control documentation. This is a hands-on, floor-based role working closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve nonconformances before they affect shipments.
This is a contract position with the potential for extension based on business needs and performance.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming raw materials and components against purchase order specifications
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections on manufactured parts
- Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment to verify dimensions
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
- Identify nonconforming material and initiate corrective action reports
- Collaborate with production staff to resolve quality issues on the line
- Maintain calibration schedules for inspection tools and equipment
- Support internal and customer audits with accurate documentation
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required, technical certification a plus
- 2 or more years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers
- Experience with CMM equipment preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
- Ability to stand and perform inspection tasks for extended periods
