Description

The Quality Technician provides proactive support to internal clients customers at in the areas of product quality and safety. The Technician will use quality planning and control methods and tools to support product and process improvement in the manufacturing and engineering functions. These include methods and tools such as standard work documentation, quality SOPs, gauge control and gauge studies, process capability studies, structured problem solving, prevention-based product planning, and process-based auditing. This position will work with all levels of the organization, sometimes as part of a team or on individual assignments. 

Job Responsibilities

Perform first-piece and final inspections on manufactured components.
Conduct quality checks across assembly, machining, and fabrication operations.
Use calipers, gauges, and other measurement tools to verify tolerances.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Record inspection data and quality issues in ERP systems.
Identify quality concerns early and help prevent downstream defects.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving.
Support development of SOPs, standard work, and quality processes.
Ensure strict adherence to all safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

High School diploma (Associate’s degree preferred)
3–5+ years of quality experience in manufacturing
Experience working with metals (sheet metal strongly preferred)
Proficiency with calipers and measurement tools
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, assembly)
Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality decisions
