Job Description

Perform CMM Inspection of aerospace and commercial CNC machined parts to verify their configuration to blueprints, drawings, and/or customer specifications. Engage with complex measurements and first article reports, utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide complex first article reports.
  • Inspect, test, or measure CNC machined parts for conformance to specifications using instruments such as CMM, rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Read blueprints, work orders, part lists, or other materials to ensure specifications are met.
  • Record inspection or test data, such as weights, holes, feature positions, and quantities inspected.
  • Convert data into FAI"s via Net-Inspect or AS9102 Forms.
  • Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
  • Operate CMM and utilize current software.
  • Program simple programs from provided drawings and/or models.
  • Troubleshoot processes and provide general statistical data.
  • Effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
  • Perform testing on materials, including paint thickness.
  • Collect or select samples for testing or for use as models.
  • Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Serve as a role model, coach, and trainer for new associates to foster a team environment.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in CMM operation.
  • Experience with PC-DMIS software.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Expertise in quality inspection.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to program simple CNC programs.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Capability to convert data into FAI"s via Net-Inspect or AS9102 Forms.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a professional office setting and may involve travel to multiple locations within Washington state. Occasionally, work may be performed in residential, inpatient, or outpatient medical monitoring facilities, as well as manufacturing environments. The role requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, operate machines, and perform light repairs/maintenance. Safety equipment such as eye safety glasses, masks, and hearing protectors may be necessary in manufacturing settings. Exposure to janitorial and maintenance chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, and other hazards is limited. The role demands flexibility, interaction with all employee levels, and the ability to handle stress involved in meeting deadlines and working on high-volume projects.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $67.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
