QC Specialist role includes direct oversight and review documentation and physical inspection phase of the work flow process and working with other in-house personnel (e.g.: Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and external personnel to produce and document a quality product. Essential Functions:Creates, execute, updates, and maintains corporate and project specific quality control (QC) procedures, documentation, and reportsReviews shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessaryProvides QC reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts non-conformance to produce the desired outcome in a timely mannerSchedules, document results, and maintains a log of all codes and independent inspections that are requiredDocuments, corrects, and re-inspects all non-conformanceVerifies and documents that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately, and are acceptable for use in the projectConducts preconstruction meetings with new and existing subcontractors and our project team to discuss issues that affect qualityConducts periodic follow-up inspections to verify that work is proceeding in conformance to the contract documentsCoordinates and documents the testing, start-up, and commissioning of building mechanical systemsProvides QC verification of the project "as-built" drawings during the course of the project and prior to submission to customerProvides QC verification of project closeout documents that include O&M manuals, as-built and warrantiesStops work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of workPerforms other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibility: No Required:3+ years of experience in the construction industry with a contractor engaged in mechanical and or industrial construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferably in a construction environment) Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniquesConstruction-document literate with knowledge of all phases of constructionProficient with Microsoft office softwareMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned and meet client-specific safety standardsMust be available to work assigned schedules Preferred:Prior military experience HS diploma or GED equivalent The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following: Work Environment:Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment Position may require visits to or working from construction sites Physical Demands:This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines Travel:May require travel (typically not overnight) Visit us at www.acibuilds.com for more information!Final compensation will be determined based on applicable experience, education, licensure, skills, and other relevant factorsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer-QA/QC Specialist - Commercial Construction - Quality Assurance and Quality Control Specialist
