    Description

    A hands-on Quality Assurance Manager to lead all food safety, quality, and regulatory programs at a high-volume manufacturing facility is needed in Greater Indianapolis. This role is a critical member of the plant leadership team, responsible for driving a strong quality culture, ensuring audit readiness, and partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain. 

     

    This leader will be highly visible on the plant floor, influencing processes, people, and performance.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Lead all site food safety and quality systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal standards
    • Own and manage HACCP, QMS, and prerequisite programs, including implementation, validation, and training
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, process optimization, and waste reduction
    • Investigate customer complaints and internal issues; lead Root Cause Analysis and CAPA execution
    • Oversee plant laboratory operations, ensuring accurate chemical, microbiological, and sensory testing
    • Establish, track, and communicate quality KPIs to plant and corporate leadership
    • Ensure effective sanitation programs, including validation, verification, and troubleshooting
    • Maintain audit-ready documentation and lead all customer, third-party (GFSI), and regulatory audits
    • Ensure on-time release of raw materials and finished goods to support production and customer fulfillment
    • Coach and develop plant personnel on food safety and quality standards; build a proactive quality culture

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
    • 5+ years of progressive quality/food safety management experience in food manufacturing
    • Strong knowledge of HACCP, QMS, CAPA, and GMPs
    • Experience with GFSI standards (SQF or BRC)
    • HACCP & PCQI Certification

    Compensation:

    • Up to $150K base plus bonus potential and relocation assistance is offered
