Spherion Mid Ohio is partnered with an established and growing electronics manufacturer in Wooster, Ohio, seeking a
1 st shift Quality Assurance Leader to take ownership of its Quality Management System and overall quality function.
Salary of up to $65K annually, depending on experience.
This is a

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality professional who is ready for more ownership and wants to make a visible impact within a smaller organization. You do
not need to already be a Quality Manager. Someone with strong hands-on Quality experience who is ready for the next step could be a great fit.
The organization is under 50 employees and has been in business for more than 50 years. This is a hands-on environment where Quality works closely with production, customers, and leadership rather than operating in a silo.
What You'll Do - Own and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System
- Maintain ISO compliance and support the organization's newer AS9100 certification
- Prepare for and participate in customer, supplier, internal, and third-party audits
- Monitor quality performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead corrective and preventive action processes
- Manage non-conforming material and quality concerns
- Work directly with customers regarding quality questions, concerns, and corrective actions
- Partner closely with Production and Engineering to resolve quality issues
- Perform hands-on inspections and support quality activities on the production floor
- Maintain quality documentation, calibration, ESD, and related programs
- Help integrate Quality processes into a new ERP system
- Lead and support one experienced Quality Assurance Specialist
- Have the authority and confidence to hold product when quality standards are not met
What We're Looking For - Strong hands-on manufacturing Quality experience
- Working knowledge of ISO quality systems and compliance
- Experience with Quality Management Systems, audits, corrective action, and continuous improvement
- Confidence communicating with customers and working across departments
- Strong judgment and the ability to appropriately push back when product quality is at risk
- Curious, hands-on mindset with a genuine willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the Quality function
Highly Preferred, But Not Required - Electronics manufacturing experience
- AS9100 experience
- IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and/or IPC-7711/7721 experience or certifications
- Previous Quality Lead, Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisor, or similar experience
- Prior formal leadership experience
Electronics experience is preferred, but candidates from other manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply. The company provides extensive technical training and has in-house IPC trainers. Required IPC certifications can be completed after hire.
