Quality Assurance Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Quality Engineer in Orlando, Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support quality engineering across design, manufacturing, and supplier activities, with responsibility for product evaluations, failure investigations, inspection and test processes, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM discipline.
• 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• 3+ years of experience developing quality standards, methods, work instructions, or procedures for inspection and testing of manufactured products.
• 3+ years of experience performing root cause analysis and developing corrective action plans.
• 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience supporting inspection, testing, or quality-control activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to evaluate product requirements, specifications, and designs from a quality perspective.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and process controls.
• Experience performing First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102.
• Experience with automated manufacturing processes or robotic technologies.
• Knowledge of recognized quality-management systems, including ISO and aerospace AS standards.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct technical evaluations of product requirements, specifications, and designs.
• Support quality engineering activities across design, production, and supplier operations.
• Lead product failure investigations.
• Support Material Review Board decisions and disposition activities.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
• Develop and implement quality-improvement strategies for internal manufacturing and supplier performance.
• Develop and analyze inspection and testing processes.
• Apply statistical analysis to quality and process-performance data.
• Develop quality standards, work instructions, procedures, and inspection/test methods.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with quality requirements.

Pay

• $53.65 per hour.
• Overtime eligible after 40 hours.
