Quality Assurance Engineer

Shift: 3rd shift, 2/2/3 schedule

Job Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer supports safe, compliant infant formula production in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role investigates quality deviations, conducts root cause analyses, partners with production teams to maintain GMP and SOP compliance, and drives continuous improvement through coaching, auditing, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate production deviations and ensure issues are resolved before product release.
  • Lead root cause investigations using tools such as 5 Whys, Gemba Walks, and Fishbone diagrams.
  • Manage multiple deviation investigations and complaint cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Serve as a quality partner on the production floor, coaching teams and supporting compliance.
  • Conduct GMP audits and floor inspections to identify and prevent quality risks.
  • Support batch record review and resolve documentation discrepancies.
  • Prepare detailed deviation reports and maintain records in TrackWise or similar systems.
  • Update SOPs and quality documentation to align with regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, SOP, and FDA requirements.
  • Prioritize multiple projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
  • 1+ years of quality experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in food, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Experience investigating deviations and performing root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, GMPs, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working both on the manufacturing floor and in an office setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with TrackWise, SAP, and/or OpenText.
  • PCQI certification or knowledge of Preventive Controls for Human Food.
  • Experience leading deviation investigations and corrective actions.
  • Continuous improvement experience.
  • Ability to build relationships and coach production teams effectively.

Work Environment

Hybrid role with approximately 50% of time spent on the manufacturing floor and 50% in an office setting. The environment is fast-paced, highly regulated, and requires close collaboration with production teams to maintain quality and compliance standards. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eau Claire, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.21 - $35.58/hr.
