Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for various testing types, including functional, regression, API, and performance testing.
• Collaborate with developers to identify, document, and resolve defects and issues.
• Translate high-level business and functional requirements into detailed test cases.
• Identify and assess potential quality risks, developing effective mitigation strategies.
• Integrate automated tests with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and test management tools.
• Analyze test requirements and profile production data to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Design and implement custom automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency.
• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover potential issues not covered by predefined test cases.
• Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to ensure quality deliverables.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required, and perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

• Strong foundational knowledge of manual testing principles and defect management.
• Technical proficiency in writing, running, and maintaining automated test scripts using tools such as Playwright, TypeScript, Java, and others.
• Proficiency in using developer tools and reading error logs for effective issue tracing.
• Knowledge of industry-wide quality assurance measures and current best practices.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
• Extensive knowledge of test automation tools and framework architectures.
• Ability to adapt to new challenges and pivot strategies based on data insights.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Competency with test management tools like Zephyr Scale and GitLab.
• Knowledge of database systems, including relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with test data management and data governance platforms.
• Deep understanding of core testing principles and methodologies.
• Technical skill in designing realistic performance test scenarios.
• Ability to systematically break down complex processes.
• Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages.
• Meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant quality assurance/automated testing experience; or three years of experience as a Business Analyst or Software Engineer in the Colorado Judicial Department. or Three years of relevant quality assurance/automated testing experience; or three years of experience as a Business Analyst or Software Engineer within the Colorado Judicial Department. Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.
