    Description

    Overview:

PowerPlan is seeking a Quality Engineer to serve as the gatekeeper of our product releases — providing the quality seal of approval before deployment and helping keep our technology market-leading. If you have a genuine interest in technology, finance, and software testing, this role puts you on projects that ship cutting-edge capability to real customers.

You'll operate as a member of a Scrum team, conducting manual and automated testing within an Agile, CI/CD development process, and helping evolve the automation frameworks the whole team relies on.

    About PowerPlan

PowerPlan helps the companies that power the world unlock greater value from their infrastructure investments. We combine deep industry expertise, trusted technology, and AI-driven innovation to help capital-intensive organizations manage the financial complexity of their assets with confidence.

We're in the middle of one of the most significant transformations in our history. Decades of proven functionality are being reimagined on a modern SaaS foundation, while AI becomes central to how we build, deliver, and evolve our products. The next generation of the PowerPlan platform is being designed right now. Join us, and you'll have the opportunity to influence the technology, engineering practices, and capabilities that will shape it for years to come.

    Responsibilities:

    Your Impact

    • Perform functional, application, regression, and performance tests to ensure products meet design specifications, customer requirements, and PowerPlan standards.
    • Enhance existing automation frameworks by adding new functions and identifying reusable components.
    • Create automated test cases using tools such as Selenium and Ranorex.
    • Identify test data, test environment setup, and configurations needed to prepare for testing.
    • Proactively identify roadblocks, create mitigation plans, and work across teams to resolve them.
    • Operate as a working member of a Scrum team, conducting manual and automated testing throughout the CI/CD process.

    What Success Looks Like

You become the person the team trusts to say a release is ready — because you've tested it against real design specs and customer requirements, not just a checklist. Your automation framework grows every quarter because you keep finding what's worth automating, and roadblocks get mitigation plans instead of becoming surprises.

    Qualifications:

    What You'll Bring

    • Experience with programming in Java, .NET, or other languages.
    • Knowledge of XML and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
    • Experience implementing test scripts within a Continuous Integration and/or Delivery pipeline (e.g., BitBucket, Bamboo, Nexus, Octopus).
    • Experience with test management tools such as qTest or Jira.
    • Experience with API/web service testing tools such as SoapUI or Postman.
    • Experience with key enterprise applications, including ERP, EAM, CRM, and Maximo.
    • Understanding of system and network architecture, system platforms, database design, SQL queries, and network protocols.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues of varying complexity and find effective solutions with few guidelines.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Accounting, a technical certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
