    Job Title: Quality Assurance Analyst
    Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid)
    Duration: 6+ Months
    Type: Contract

    Remote initially. Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Hartford, CT once the State transitions to a hybrid/in-office work schedule.

    Job Description:
    We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented QA Tester (Manual & Automation) to support quality assurance and testing activities for the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS). This is a hands-on testing role responsible for ensuring enterprise applications meet business, functional, and technical requirements through comprehensive manual and automated testing, defect validation, and quality assurance processes.
    The successful candidate will work closely with business analysts, developers, project managers, vendors, and QA teams to validate application functionality, ensure software quality, and support successful project delivery. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
    The ideal candidate has prior hands-on experience with manual testing, automation testing, SQL validation, API testing, and Agile software development environments.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Execute comprehensive manual, functional, regression, integration, system, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities across enterprise applications.
    • Develop detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and test data based on business requirements and user workflows.
    • Perform API, database, end-to-end, smoke, sanity, and validation testing to ensure application quality and business readiness.
    • Accurately document test execution results, identify issues, and create clear, reproducible defect reports.
    • Participate in defect triage meetings, validate defect resolutions, perform retesting, and verify production readiness.
    • Execute automation test scripts using industry-standard automation frameworks and maintain automated regression test suites.
    • Validate application functionality against business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents.
    • Perform SQL database validation, backend testing, and data verification to ensure data integrity.
    • Collaborate effectively with developers, business analysts, project managers, vendors, and QA teams to resolve issues efficiently.
    • Support release validation, production verification, post-deployment testing, and application stabilization activities.
    • Ensure all testing artifacts, documentation, and deliverables meet established Quality Management standards.
    • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
    Mandatory Requirements:
    • Prior hands-on experience in Manual Testing and Automation Testing for enterprise web applications.
    • Strong knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and Quality Assurance methodologies.
    • Experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, test scripts, test scenarios, and documenting test results.
    • Hands-on experience with API Testing, SQL database validation, backend testing, and data verification.
    • Experience using test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, ALM, or similar platforms.
    • Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, system, end-to-end, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing.
    • Familiarity with automation testing frameworks and scripting tools.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and investigative skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with business users, developers, vendors, technical teams, and project leadership.
    • Must comply with all State policies, security requirements, and procedures.
