Summary

The Quality and Sustainability Analytics Food and Import Specialist provides daily operational and administrative support of QA process and workflow functions to achieve departmental goals.

What You'll Do

Essential Functions

Supports and assists with assigned projects and/or department data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements

Conduct data entry and data management for various department projects

Assists with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows and project plans

Manages work processes, systems, and/or procedures to ensure efficient workflow

Identify, develop, and propose opportunities for business and process improvement

Assists in national and international projects, producing business requirements, performing business system tests and technical improvements

Organize and monitor the following activities in accordance with Quality Assurance Standards:

sample evaluation, planning and monitoring activities, facilitation feedback and supplier discussions, technical support for Purchasing for all quality-related questions, risk assessment of products, analytics results, supplier notifications, notifications from authorities and general product problems

Monitor and implement legal requirements including importation Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) and all requirements for Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Monitor and assess legal and market developments; share relevant information; derive and implement the necessary measures and produce guidelines

Serve as an initial point of contact for internal and external stakeholders in the case of current questions and guidelines in relation to critical problems with products, such as communication with the authorities, customers and suppliers

Provide support for the interfacing departments in an advisory capacity

Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of principles and methods of food science, physics, chemistry, or biology, consumer products regulations, production and manufacturing processes, and quality assurance practices, or other relevant areas of the retail industry

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team under general supervision

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

SAP software

ICIX

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

Bachelor's degree

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a related field

In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related

experience requirements listed above

Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

HACCP Manager Certification

PCQI Certification

Physical Job Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times

Travel Requirements

This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time

Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
