Title: Quality Assurance Assistant Manager – Manufacturing
Location: Hoffman Estates, IL
Industry: Manufacturing

Hours: 8am-5pm
Pay: $40.00-$44.00/hr

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee quality activities across manufacturing and receiving operations. This individual will supervise QA Inspectors, maintain quality systems and documentation, support internal audits, and ensure products and processes meet established quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing quality assurance, supervisory experience, and a solid understanding of quality management systems, product specifications, inspection processes, and non-conforming product controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise QA Inspectors supporting manufacturing operations across all shifts.
  • Supervise QA Receiving Inspectors responsible for inspecting purchased products, components, and raw materials.
  • Manage time and attendance for direct reports.
  • Develop and maintain annual training plans and provide training on applicable policies, procedures, Standard Test Methods (STMs), and Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs).
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and develop employee improvement and development plans as needed.
  • Maintain electronic quality records and ensure documentation is accurate and properly controlled.
  • Maintain databases related to finished goods inspections, purchased product inspections, non-conformances, deviations, and certificates of destruction.
  • Create, update, and maintain quality documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, STMs, and AQLs.
  • Ensure employees follow applicable environmental and quality procedures.
  • Monitor the Control of Non-Conforming Product process and ensure corrective actions identified through internal audits are properly addressed, processed, and verified.
  • Partner with other departments to develop procedures, work instructions, and supporting quality documentation.
  • Support manufacturing operations by providing QA resources, guidance, and training as needed.
  • Participate in the internal audit program as an Auditor or Lead Auditor.
  • Provide product inspection and testing certifications when requested.
  • Support product registration activities for international markets.
  • Perform additional duties related to quality assurance, auditing, and maintaining quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience working with Access databases or similar database systems.
  • Strong ability to interpret product specifications, technical documentation, and part drawings.
  • Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Experience with quality inspection processes, non-conforming product controls, corrective actions, and internal audits.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Quality Assurance certifications.
  • Experience supporting wet manufacturing or process manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with internal auditing and Lead Auditor responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting product registration or international market requirements.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with databases and spreadsheets.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with Adobe and other quality/document-management systems.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as PDXpert and Integrity is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

This individual should be comfortable working across manufacturing, receiving, production, and other functional areas while ensuring compliance with established quality standards.
