    Description

    MAU is hiring a Quality Assistant Manager for our client in Ellabell, GA. As a Quality Assistant Manager, you will oversee quality control processes, supervise quality personnel, manage customer quality requirements, and ensure manufacturing operations meet established quality standards. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment at the Quality Engineer level or higher

    Preferred Education and Experience

    • Previous experience working with seating products

    General Requirements

    • Broad knowledge of quality systems, including IATF 16949, ISO, and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
    • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Toyota Production System (TPS)
    • Complete understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to create and manage U.S. Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages
    • Ability to develop and implement quality control plans and systems from scratch
    • Knowledge of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), capability studies, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R), and Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
    • Ability to complete Part Submission Warrant (PSW) and Appearance Approval Report (AAR) forms
    • Understanding of plastic manufacturing processes and associated quality requirements
    • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) reports
    • Knowledge of gages, dimensional inspection methods, and component measurement requirements
    • Ability to interpret colorimeter results and customer testing requirements
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customer Quality Engineers, production personnel, management, and cross-functional project teams

    Essential Functions

    • Supervise Quality Engineers, Quality Inspectors, and Quality Liaisons while reporting to the Quality Manager.
    • Review manufacturing instructions and procedures for completeness, accuracy, and comprehension by production and assembly workers.
    • Audit manufacturing processes to evaluate employee methods, tool usage, and adherence to established manufacturing instructions.
    • Determine inspection frequency and allowable variations from specifications at various stages of the manufacturing process, as applicable.
    • Investigate and recommend alternative product designs or manufacturing methods to ensure quality.
    • Develop inspection plans, reporting formats, and performance indicators for specific process areas, as applicable.
    • Create and manage U.S. PPAP processes and submission packages.
    • Develop and implement quality control plans and systems from scratch to support manufacturing operations.
    • Conduct inspections according to the Quality Management System, established control plans, and customer agreements.
    • Initiate corrective actions when agreed-upon customer quality objectives cannot be achieved.
    • Execute product audits, internal system audits, and process audits to evaluate compliance with established quality requirements.
    • Determine inspection status according to the Quality Management System.
    • Administer and archive quality documents, samples, and measurement instruments.
    • Prepare and report quality data for the Quality department using Excel charts and PowerPoint presentations.
    • Determine preventive measures to ensure quality in collaboration with production, management, and project teams.
    • Assist with IATF 16949 audits and associated quality management activities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review, develop, and finalize PFMEAs.
    • Initiate and perform process capability studies and interpret results to evaluate manufacturing process performance.
    • Complete PSW and AAR forms as part of the PPAP process.
    • Coordinate with CMM operators to establish component and assembly measurement methods and complete dimensional PPAP forms.
    • Interpret customer testing requirements and complete the appropriate PPAP documentation.
    • Initiate GR&R and MSA studies and interpret results.
    • Develop work instructions and, as needed, process flow diagrams for plastic manufacturing processes.
    • Communicate with customer Quality Engineers to address quality questions, investigate issues, and obtain resolutions.
    • Read and interpret customer drawings to verify component requirements and specifications.
    • Interpret GD&T requirements and CMM reports to support dimensional quality evaluations.
    • Evaluate part functions and develop GD&T schemes based on functional requirements.
    • Communicate proposed GD&T schemes and related recommendations to customers.
    • Apply GD&T schemes to develop gage concepts and support gage construction.
    • Coordinate with customers to obtain approval of gage concepts and designs.
    • Interface with gage builders throughout gage development, construction, and completion.
    • Review manufactured parts and determine acceptability based on established quality standards.
    • Visit customer locations to participate in color and harmony meetings.
    • Read and interpret colorimeter results to evaluate product quality.
    • Analyze quality control data to identify and address production problems.
    • Maintain current knowledge of quality control practices through relevant literature on material applications, technological advancements, and statistical studies.
