Position Overview
The Quality and EH&S Manager is responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving the organization’s quality assurance, environmental health and safety (EH&S), programs. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, customer, shipyard, and internal requirements while driving a culture of safety, quality, and continuous workforce development.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Quality Assurance & Control
Establish, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
Ensure compliance with contract specifications and workmanship standards
Conduct inspections, audits, and non-conformance tracking
Coordinate with customers and third-party inspectors
Maintain quality records and audit documentation
Guide and lead inspector personnel
Safety (EHS) Leadership & Compliance
Provide leadership and oversight of all company safety programs and policies
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NAVSEA, shipyard, customer, and site-specific requirements
Develop and enforce Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and site safety plans
Conduct safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks
Lead incident, near-miss, and injury investigations and corrective actions
Serve as primary liaison with shipyards and regulatory safety representatives
Utilize the resources of our insurance partnerships to strengthen our safety programs
Guide and lead inspector personnel
Program, Operational & Risk Support
Integrate safety and quality requirements into project planning
Support project kick-offs, reviews, and closeouts
Provide safety and quality metrics and reporting to leadership
Support risk assessments for new projects
Experience & Other Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Industrial Safety, Quality, Engineering, or related field OR 5-8 years of progressive experience in a related field
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and industrial/shipyard safety compliance
Experience in government contracting or shipyard environments preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and background screening
Must be able to obtain and maintain DBIDS and shipyard access
Ability to work extended hours and travel as required (estimated <25%)
