Description

Job Title: Quality AnalystJob Description

The Quality Analyst plays a key role in ensuring that production-scale materials meet rigorous performance and quality standards. In this role, you operate analytical instruments, generate and analyze test data, maintain quality systems, and contribute directly to the development and optimization of new products. As part of a rapidly growing start-up environment, your work will have a direct and significant impact on the product line and its position as a leader in transparent conductive films.

Responsibilities

  • Operate analytical instruments to measure and collect data for production-scale materials.
  • Prepare and produce test samples and accurately measure their performance.
  • Test, compile, and analyze data to assess the quality and consistency of production-scale materials.
  • Maintain quality databases and regularly review quality KPIs to monitor performance and trends.
  • Manage the calibration, maintenance, and general upkeep of quality analytical instruments and equipment.
  • Develop new characterization methodologies as needed and create clear standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in defining product specifications for new production materials to align performance with internal and external customer requirements.
  • Participate in product nonconformance investigations and support the development and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Prepare technical reports and summaries for both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment, contributing quality insights to cross-functional teams.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of industrial quality control (QC) or quality assurance (QA) experience.
  • Strong background in analytical chemistry and hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Experience operating and maintaining analytical instruments for material characterization.
  • Proficiency in chemical handling and adherence to laboratory safety practices.
  • Familiarity with GMP principles and quality standards.
  • Experience with JMP or similar statistical software for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Ability to maintain and interpret quality databases and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for preparing technical reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of optoelectronic devices and thin film coatings.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instruments related to thin films and optoelectronic materials.
  • Experience with mixing, blending, and wet coating operations.
  • Experience developing characterization methodologies and authoring SOPs.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, rapidly growing start-up environment where contributions have a direct impact on product success.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-site role with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You will work in a laboratory and production support environment that relies on analytical instruments, quality databases, and statistical software to monitor and improve material performance. The setting is collaborative and multi-disciplinary, with close interaction between quality, engineering, and product teams in a fast-paced start-up atmosphere focused on innovation in transparent conductive films.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hayward, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.13 - $40.28/hr.
