The Role NNS Quality Assurance Engineering (Final Certification/Material Investigation Team) is seeking a motivated individual to come join us! This individual would work with Material Investigation Leads to maintain operational specifications for the Material Investigation process, to include but not limited to ensuring procedures are maintained in accordance with best practices and process improvements. Analyzes material issues to ensure all liabilities are documented and confirms issues are adjudicated with appropriate objective quality evidence (OQE) from customers. Works as liaison between key stakeholders to coordinate material issue resolution. Reviews status of Material Investigations; manages schedules and prepares status reports to team, immediate management, and customers. Prepares Letter of Notification (LON) for government officials, as needed. The ideal candidate should be a proactive, team-oriented, resourceful, independent/critical thinker, solutions-focused, adaptable, and flexible individual that can work with minimal supervision. It is preferred that the candidate have experience with material traceability using SAP, DDMS, and COGNOS. Strong leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary due to the collaborative nature of this position with the other functional areas of NNS, as well as external customers. Occasional work may be needed in order to support ship certification meetings and material investigations that happen outside of normal office hours. Must Have Bachelors Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelors Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate Associates Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience Nice to Have Prior experience/exposure to SAP, DDMS, and COGNOS Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel. Proficiency with SAP and COGNOS. Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to work in a close team environment as a strong team player. Excellent organizational and customer service skills with a strong attention to detail. Performs deckplate surveillance to ensure processes conform to established standards. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adjust to change and enjoy challenges of new problems or situations. Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements an influence change. Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
