Responsibilities:

Facilitate structured psychoeducational groups focused on:
• Adult life skills
• Parenting education and healthy family relationships
• Health and wellness
• Nutrition and fitness
• Self-care and stress management
• Emotional regulation and coping skills
• Communication and healthy relationships
• Recovery and relapse prevention
• Implement creative, engaging, and evidence-based group curriculum appropriate for adults in residential substance use treatment.
• Encourage active participation while fostering a safe, respectful, and therapeutic group environment.
• Support clients in identifying strengths and developing practical skills for long-term recovery and independent living.
• Collaborate with the treatment team regarding client progress and treatment needs.
• Observe client behavior and communicate significant observations to the treatment team promptly.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, professionally, and within established timeframes, including group notes, attendance, progress notes, and other required records.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, agency policies, and state regulations.
• Maintain professional boundaries and model appropriate behavior for clients.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, supervision, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe group environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Administrator, Medical Director or CEO

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
• Qualified Behavioral Health Provider (QBHP) credentials that meet Arkansas Medicaid and state requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Education, Sociology, or another qualifying behavioral health field preferred, or other qualifications consistent with Arkansas QBHP requirements.
• Experience working with individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, or co-occurring disorders preferred.
• Experience facilitating psychoeducational or therapeutic groups preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building positive therapeutic relationships.

Preferred skills:
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented treatment principles.
• Understanding of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Ability to facilitate engaging educational groups for adults with varying learning styles.
• Knowledge of positive parenting practices and child development.
• Strong skills in motivational interviewing, de-escalation, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Demonstrates professionalism, flexibility, empathy, and sound clinical judgment.
• Ability to establish rapport with women in recovery while promoting accountability, personal growth, and healthy lifestyle changes.

Requirements:
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk, for extended periods of time
• Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading and writing, and operating office equipment and agency vehicles
• Ability to work in a residential treatment environment with occasional exposure to emotionally challenging situations.
• Be capable of responding appropriately during behavioral health emergencies or crisis situations.

Work Environment:
This position works in a residential treatment facility serving women with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders who reside with their children. The work requires flexibility, professionalism, compassion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting clients through the recovery process.
