Job Title: Qt/QML Engineer Software Engineer (10+ Years)

Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Employment Type: Contract
Pay Range: $74-$88/hourly

About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Qt/QML C++ Software Engineer to develop and maintain software applications supporting advanced military vehicle systems. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer with extensive C++ development experience and a strong background in Qt/QML, user interface development, and complex software applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Qt, QML, and C++.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define, design, and deliver new software features.
  • Develop high-quality, reusable, maintainable, and efficient software.
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex software issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to team members.
  • Apply advanced C++ and object-oriented programming practices to software development.
  • Support software development throughout the complete development lifecycle.
  • Stay current with emerging Qt/QML, C++, and software development technologies.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.
  • Extensive experience with the Qt framework and QML for UI development.
  • Familiarity with multithreading, networking, and advanced C++ concepts.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a collaborative engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cross-platform application development.
  • Experience with software debugging and performance optimization tools.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous experience supporting defense, embedded, or military vehicle software programs.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship may be required based on program requirements.
