Description

Job Title: QC TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable QC Technician to join our team. In this role, you will apply your understanding of basic chemistry and laboratory equipment to test and inspect raw materials and finished products, ensuring they meet specified standards. You will report accurate data, maintain timely lab workflow, and collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and recommend process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine testing of raw materials and finished products according to specifications.
  • Operate lab equipment, including gram scales, moisture balance measuring tools, PH meter, refractometer, and density meter.
  • Perform sensory analysis and understand the characteristics of raw materials.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and engage in additional projects.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with customer complaints and manage CRM cases.
  • Review and suggest updates to Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in the development of analytical testing procedures and protocols for raw materials and finished products.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions for workflow processes and quality improvements.
  • Participate in the Sensory Evaluation Team for flavors and fragrances.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in quality control processes and inspection techniques.
  • Experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments.
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Knowledge of laboratory practices, including wet chemistry and pipetting.
  • Strong documentation control skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • A degree in chemistry or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a QC laboratory, including internships, specific classes, or industry experience, is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, statistical, and mathematical skills.
  • Experience with sensory analysis (taste/odor) is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with GCFID or GCMS is a plus.

Work Environment

This role operates within a GMP-regulated environment, focused on food and beverage production. The work involves meeting production deadlines and adhering to regulations. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires interaction with employees at all levels of the organization. This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $21.63/hr.
