Job Title: QC TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a QC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will apply their knowledge of basic chemistry and lab equipment to test and inspect raw materials and finished products according to specifications. They will be responsible for reporting accurate data and ensuring timely lab workflow, operating lab equipment, and performing sensory analysis. Additionally, they will collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and recommend process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine testing of raw materials and finished products.
  • Assist in the development of analytical testing procedures and protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with problem formulas and raw materials.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions for workflow processes and quality improvements.
  • Interact with various groups within the organization for problem resolution and new projects.
  • Participate on the Sensory Evaluation Team for flavors and fragrances, focusing on taste and odor.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with customer complaints and CRM case management.
  • Review and suggest updates to QC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in quality control, preferably in a laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in using lab equipment such as gram scales, moisture balance measuring, PH Meter, refractometer, and density meter.
  • Knowledge of GMP, MSDS, and quality control inspection.
  • Strong organizational, statistical/math, and sensory (taste/odor) skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • GCFID or GCMS experience is a plus.
  • Sensory experience is a huge plus.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a GMP-regulated environment within the food and beverage industry. The position is production-based, with deadlines to meet and regulations to adhere to. The work culture emphasizes communication, requiring candidates who are comfortable interacting with employees at all levels.

This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $21.63/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
