Location: Exton, PA
Salary: $60,000/year
Schedule: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented QC/QA Manager to oversee laboratory and quality operations within a manufacturing environment. This position will help ensure products, processes, and documentation meet regulatory, customer, and company quality standards while supporting ongoing improvements to the facility’s quality systems.

The QC/QA Manager will oversee laboratory activities, testing, documentation, training, compliance, and quality processes while partnering closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day laboratory and quality activities while maintaining accurate documentation and records.

  • Monitor and improve laboratory procedures, quality systems, and documentation processes.

  • Ensure GMP requirements and established quality procedures are consistently followed.

  • Support FDA, customer, and internal audits, including preparation and follow-up activities.

  • Assist with document control, complaints, CAPA, nonconforming materials, inspections, internal audits, and quality records.

  • Develop, review, maintain, and approve SOPs, work instructions, laboratory procedures, and other quality documentation.

  • Coordinate and support GMP and quality-related training.

  • Oversee laboratory testing, including incoming, in-process, sensory, and finished-product testing.

  • Support equipment calibration, laboratory validation, and related quality activities.

  • Coordinate water system testing, documentation, and validation requirements.

  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, customers, and external partners to resolve quality-related issues.

  • Support customer specifications, quality requirements, and documentation requests.

  • Coordinate laboratory staffing, training, qualifications, and performance reviews.

  • Provide backup support for laboratory technicians when needed.

  • Coordinate with outside laboratories and manage external testing requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to improve quality processes, efficiency, and compliance.

  • Participate in customer and company meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of laboratory and/or sensory qualification experience required.

  • Previous experience in quality assurance, laboratory operations, or manufacturing quality preferred.

  • Working knowledge of GMP requirements and quality systems.

  • Knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 820 is preferred.

  • Experience with audits, CAPA, document control, inspections, or nonconforming materials.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records and documentation.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, customers, and leadership.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing approximately 25-30 pounds.

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be willing to complete sensory certification, including product tasting and smelling.

  • Flexibility to work overtime or occasional off-shift hours based on business needs.
