The Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM)/ Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for managing and performing the daily QC responsibilities of specific projects to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the established minimum standards. The CQCM/SSHO role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the work flow process and working with other in-house personnel (e.g.: Project Managers, Project Coordinators etc.) and external personnel to produce and document a quality product. The CQCM reports directly to the Project Manager and the VP of Construction.

Local agencies: City or county entities, such as public schools, local police departments, and city parks and recreation offices
REPORTS TO: Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, Project Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1) Minimum of 5-10 years construction experience on construction quality control
2) Have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the contract, each subcontract and the plans and specifications in order to assist the Project Manager in development of the onsite procedures
3) Create, update and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports
4) Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessary
5) Chair and document weekly QC and Safety meetings with the superintendent and provide written minutes as described in project specific contract documents
6) Provide daily QC and Safety reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner
7) Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work
8) Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately and are acceptable for use in the project
9) Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of building systems
10) Perform quality control testing and inspection in adherence with contract requirements and company best practices
11) Develop and update QC & APP plans for projects to align with Safety requirements, EM-385 or OSHA or other safety standards as required
12) Responsible for working with subcontractors and all vendors to procure and assist in developing all safety documents (AHAs, Certifications, Lift Plans etc..) as required for the project well in advance to align with the schedule and work activities as needed.
13) Collect and file all safety meetings materials (toolbox talks, equipment inspections etc..)
QUALIFICATIONS:
15) Minimum 5-10 years' experience in the construction industry with a general contractor engaged in general building construction
16) Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, scopes and techniques
17) U.S. Army Corps of Engineers "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" Certification within last 5 years
18) Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry
19) OSHA 30-hour certification / EM 385 40 hour certification within last 5 years
20) OSHA HAZWOPER
21) NAVFAC ECATTS Certification
22) CPR/First Aid certification
23) Ability to speak clearly and exercise good judgment.
24) Ability to work under pressure.
25) Ability to work remote locations
26) Ability to travel and move depending on project locations
27) Other duties as organizational demands necessitate.
5 to 10 Years of related experience working on projects for federal and local public agencies. Bachelor's Degree in construction Related Discipline.
