Our client is seeking a detail-oriented QA Technician II to join a fast-paced milk and dairy manufacturing operation in Denver, Colorado.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with quality assurance, food manufacturing, microbiology, chemistry, or laboratory experience who enjoys hands-on testing, problem-solving, and ensuring products meet rigorous food safety and quality standards.
As a QA Technician II, you will perform laboratory testing, inspect production processes, analyze results, maintain accurate quality documentation, and work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality concerns.
Conduct quality testing on incoming raw materials and finished dairy products.
Inspect production processes to ensure compliance with established quality and food safety standards.
Perform laboratory testing and accurately record, analyze, and interpret results.
Monitor equipment calibration and maintenance requirements.
Identify trends in test results and communicate findings to production employees and management.
Investigate out-of-specification results and support corrective actions.
Partner with production teams to quickly address quality-related issues.
Implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices, GMPs, Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs, and food safety requirements.
Support regulatory compliance and established quality control programs.
Participate in internal audits and assist with external audits as needed.
Maintain accurate daily quality and laboratory records.
Analyze quality data and prepare reports on key quality metrics.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and 6-S workplace standards.
Assist with investigating customer complaints and coordinating appropriate follow-up with production.
Perform quality control testing to ensure products remain within required specifications.
Complete additional quality and laboratory projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 1 year of Quality Assurance experience.
Candidates with relevant microbiology or chemical laboratory experience will also be considered.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong written communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision while contributing effectively within a team.
Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications.
Ability to work the required Sunday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM schedule.
Ability to work occasional overtime as business needs require.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific, food science, microbiology, chemistry, or related discipline.
Previous QA experience within food, beverage, dairy, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Laboratory testing experience.
Knowledge of HACCP and food safety principles.
Familiarity with GMPs, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and quality control procedures.
Experience operating, calibrating, or maintaining laboratory testing equipment.
Relevant quality, laboratory, or food safety certifications.
This is a contract opportunity with the potential for extension based on workload, budget, and individual performance. Future conversion to a full-time position may be possible based on business needs but is not guaranteed.
