Job Function:
To ensure that the products that the company produces meet the quality, safety, and legal requirements.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Under general direction, plan and organize daily activity of assigned area.
Follow through on set processes and procedures to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, FDA, USDA requirements.
Ensure that the work descriptions are followed.
Responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting qualitative and quantitative results of products including alerting out of compliance results.
Assist on administering Company's quality program which may include Sensory evaluation, maintain sample retain library, internal audits, customer complaint, conduct environmental sampling, label review among others.
Participate in raw materials, finished goods hold/release.
Maintain production records, including storage and organization.
Identify unsafe conditions/behaviors and take action to resolve.
Perform post-cleaning and sanitation inspections.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or associate in science food science preferred or equivalent experience of Minimum of two years of related work experience.
Minimum two years of work experience in food industry.
Knowledge of food safety industry practices and standards.
Strong knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point)
Spanish is a plus but no required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Able to adjust the schedule as needed.
Lifting and bending as needed. Exposure to cool/cold environment.
