QA Shelf Life Lead – Job Summary

$28/hr | Mon–Fri, 8AM–5PM

The QA Shelf Life Lead manages the full shelf-life program, including data collection, sample review, trending, and reporting. This role analyzes product quality, supports plant trials, and provides recommendations to improve freshness, reduce complaints, and strengthen quality standards. Works closely with QA, Food Safety, and Production to track product performance, document results, and communicate findings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the shelf-life program and maintain all related processes
  • Review retain samples and report findings to QA leadership
  • Support plant trials, collect data, and provide shelf-life recommendations
  • Track and trend shelf-life data; generate daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Measure deviations and determine optimal freshness standards
  • Assist with traceability and complaint investigations
  • Inspect raw product, in-process product, and finished goods
  • Analyze quality issues and communicate results to QA management
  • Help train QA staff on new standards and procedures
  • Present data and product reviews to internal teams

Requirements

  • High school diploma; AS in Agriculture or related field preferred
  • 1+ year QA or food manufacturing experience
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); BC system a plus
  • Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and date coding
  • Strong communication, math, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and support QA standards
