This role ensures work is performed in accordance with project specifications, approved submittals, applicable codes, welding procedures, company standards, and client expectations. The position also requires daily documentation, observations, photo records, and follow-up of corrective actions in Procore. Essential Functions:Review drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and applicable quality requirements before work beginsVerify that materials received in the field or shop match approved submittals and project requirementsInspect pipe fit-up prior to welding, including alignment, joint preparation, cleanliness, and overall readinessMonitor welding activities to verify compliance with approved procedures, qualified personnel, and acceptable workmanshipPerform visual inspections of welded joints and pipe installations for quality, alignment, support, layout, and overall complianceCoordinate or verify required testing and inspection activities as applicable to the projectIdentify nonconforming work, document deficiencies, issue observations, and track corrective actions through completionMaintain accurate QA/QC records, including inspection reports, photo documentation, material verification, test records, and closeout itemsWork closely with superintendents, foremen, project management, and field crews to resolve quality issues and prevent reworkSupport project turnover by ensuring quality documentation is complete and properly organized Daily ResponsibilitiesWalk active work areas and inspect ongoing pipefitting and welding activitiesVerify crews are installing work in accordance with drawings, approved details, and company standardsCheck weld preparation and completed welds for visible quality concerns before the next phase of work beginsDocument observations in Procore with photos, clear descriptions, location references, and assigned responsibilityCommunicate deficiencies to field leadership and follow up until correctedRecord daily quality-related activity, inspections, tests witnessed, deficiencies found, and corrective actions takenVerify that previously identified issues have been corrected and properly closed out Supervisory Responsibility: No Required:Strong field experience in pipefitting, piping systems, welding, or QA/QC inspection in commercial or industrial constructionAbility to read and interpret drawings, piping layouts, specifications, and approved submittalsWorking knowledge of installation quality requirements, weld preparation, and visual inspection standardsExperience with field documentation and digital reporting systems such as ProcoreStrong communication and follow-up skills with the ability to work effectively with field teams and project leadershipProven track record working with people, teams and projects Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available to work assigned schedules Preferred:Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solvingAny additional welding inspection certifications would be considered a plus The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following: Work Environment:Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment Position may require visits to or working from construction sites Physical Demands:This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines Travel:May require travel (typically not overnight) Visit us at www.acibuilds.com for more information!
