Senior Manager, Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)

Location: Burlington County, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite (5 Days per Week)
Travel: Approximately 10-15% (Domestic and International)

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) to lead all quality functions within a plastics manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving quality systems that support manufacturing operations, regulatory compliance, customer requirements, and certification standards.

The Senior Manager will oversee quality operations across the facility, manage a team of Quality Supervisors, lead internal audit programs, maintain ISO compliance, and serve as the primary quality representative for customers, auditors, and certification bodies. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience within plastics, polymers, PVC compounding, or related manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities.
• Manage and develop a team of three QA/QC Supervisors within a union manufacturing environment.
• Serve as the site's Internal ISO Representative and maintain compliance with applicable quality standards and certifications.
• Lead all internal audit activities, including audit planning, scheduling, execution, documentation, and corrective action follow-up.
• Coordinate and manage third-party certification audits and customer quality audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Develop and monitor quality metrics, KPIs, and performance objectives.
• Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Conduct annual evaluations of quality systems and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive action programs.
• Support customer quality concerns and travel to customer locations as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory, environmental, safety, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive QA/QC leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in plastics manufacturing, polymer production, PVC compounding, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards, quality management systems, audits, and compliance programs.
• Proven experience leading teams and driving quality initiatives in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Experience working within a Japanese manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing quality processes within a unionized workforce.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting customer audits, supplier quality initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.

Travel Requirements

• Occasional travel to company facilities, including Kentucky.
• Customer-facing travel within the United States and Mexico as needed.
• Approximately 10-15% travel.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $140,000 - $160,000
• Annual performance bonus opportunity of up to 10%
