Title:                     QA Laboratory Technician I
Location:             Commerce, CA 90040
Duration:             3 months (Contract)
Payrate:               $28.00/hour to $30.00Hour (W2)
Schedule:            5pm - 1: 30am (Candidate to be flexible for change of hours)
Candidate to be open to overtime.
Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Off Monday and Tuesday.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for sampling, testing, plating, reading, and recording product test results.
  • Ensure that daily records are kept and maintained, Data Entry and tracking.
  • Following QC Hold Procedures for out-of-specific products
  • Must possess the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Will assist in the discipline to maintain a 5-S rating of an "A".
  • Be flexible in working hours.
  • Equipment calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in driving continuous improvement.
  • Must meet with supervisor on a daily basis covering any issues associated with production.
  • Possess the knowledge and understanding of Industry best practice maintenance on equipment.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree (Food Science, Biology, Microbiology or related science) or equivalent experience (Minimum 2 years in similar role)
  • Knowledge of Microbiological, Chemical and Physical, Organoleptic Testing
  • Ensure client policies, procedures, and workplace safety is adhered to.
  • Evaluate trends from test results and develop plans to correct deficiencies and communicate these plans to employees, and management.
  • Implement quality control processes/testing to meet the expectations of client quality standards and ensure that the product(s) are within specification.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Utilize laboratory supplies/items relating to plant sanitation/safety.
  • Good oral/written communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task in fast paced environment with limited supervision. Proficient in window-based PC programs.
  • Lab Test Equipment/Maintenance.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

  • Ability to work in cold and loud environments.
